Company History
Aether Advanced Systems Corp was founded in 1987 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, with a focused mission: to advance materials research and propulsion systems for defense applications. What began as a small research consultancy supporting Sandia National Laboratories has grown into a mid-tier defense contractor with over 400 employees across three facilities.
Our work spans advanced materials characterization, novel propulsion concepts, and defense systems integration. We hold active contracts with the Department of Defense, the Department of Energy, and select allied nation defense ministries.
Aether Advanced Systems maintains facility clearance at the TS/SCI level and operates a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) at our Albuquerque headquarters.
Executive Leadership
Marcus Webb
Chairman & Chief Executive OfficerMr. Webb has led Aether Advanced Systems since its founding in 1987. Prior to establishing the company, he held senior research positions at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory and served as a technical advisor to DARPA. He holds a Ph.D. in Applied Physics from MIT.
Dr. Sarah Chen
Chief Technology OfficerDr. Chen oversees all research and development programs. She joined Aether Advanced Systems in 2003 after a distinguished career at Los Alamos National Laboratory. She holds a Ph.D. in Materials Science from Stanford University.
Robert Hargrove
Senior Vice President, OperationsMr. Hargrove manages day-to-day operations across all Aether Advanced Systems facilities. A former Air Force officer, he brings 20 years of defense program management experience to the role.
Linda Torres
Chief Financial OfficerMs. Torres oversees all financial operations and government contract compliance. She previously served as CFO for two other mid-tier defense contractors and holds an MBA from Wharton.
